Welcome to Hamburg City Hall!

Hamburg City Hall is now more than 100 years old.

However, it is not a museum, but the political centre and vigorous heart of our city. Being the much frequented stage of politics and of state representation, the two most important political organs of the city are located here in Hamburg City Hall: Hamburg Parliament, known in other states as the "Landtag", and the Senate, often known as the State Government. Also, the City Hall houses the seats of the most important representatives: the President of the Hamburg Parliament and the Lord Mayor, whose role is comparable to that of Minister President in other states.

Guided Tours of City Hall
Guided tours through City Hall (time: approx. 40 minutes) are conducted on the following days:

Monday - Thursday: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
German tours take place every 30 minutes on the half and on the full hour.
English or French tours on demand every hour from 10.15 a.m. until 3.15 p.m.

Friday: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
German tours take place every 30 minutes on the half and on the full hour.
English or French tours on demand every hour from 10.15 a.m. until 1.15 p.m.

Saturday: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
German tours take place every 30 minutes on the half and on the full hour.
English or French tours on demand every hour from 10.15 a.m. until 5.15 p.m.

Sunday: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
German tours take place every 30 minutes on the half and on the full hour.
English or French tours on demand every hour from 10.15 a.m. until 4.15 p.m.

Admission
Adults: 4 EUR
Children under 14 years: free of charge
Groups of at least 15 people: 3 EUR
Holder of the Hamburg-Card: 3 EUR
School classes: free of charge

Please note that you can check the exact times of the City Hall tours and any possible schedule changes due to official events on hotline 0049 (40) 42831-2470 (only in German).

Visiting a Hamburg Parliament Session
Visit a session of Hamburg Parliament and experience the atmosphere of parliament from the spectator stand. For groups, we offer to show a video film about the parliamentary work and to arrange an informative discussion with a Member of Parliament. Due to the limited number of spaces early application for tickets is recommended.

Visiting a Committee Session
The sessions of the Hamburg Parliament Expert Committees are usually public. Individual guests and smaller groups are welcome to visit committee sessions. Registration is not necessary.
